quite a while

okay.. it's been quite a while since my last post haha i've been quite busy soo yeah, didn't really have time to write anything..

 

soo i'm currently having my 3-week holiday (December 22, 2008 until January 12, 2008), just got back from my five-day vacation yesterday to a mountain near Bogor.. stayed there, had lots of fun with my big family (only 15 members, yuuppp a "small" big family)..

 

we kinda have this "celebrating new year together" for the last 3 or 4 years (I think only 3 years, but I'm not so sure)..

 

met my mom's friend's family and yup, it was very crowded! about 25-30 ppl gathered.. soo it definitely was something =)

 

well i didn't have the best birthday, but i was simply happy.. *i'm supposed to be, coz it's my birthday -,-" * but, i was a bit pissed *let's just say only i have to know about that*

 

my table is currently messy with books, papers, etcetera and i didn't have time to clean it up before my vacation and i'm kinda lazy to clean it up now..

sooo i'll have to face my mom saying "clean up ur table!" every single day.. i'm just hoping for the "cleaning up" mood to get into me haha don't know when but it's gotta be before 12th Jan..

 

I MISS MY FRIENDS >.< especially FK friends and art bio friends..

i -really- can't wait for 12th Jan to come..

 

one more thing, i am now in SLR camera fever.. it's because of the vacation! my mom's friend's son brought Canon SLR and his uncle brought Nikon SLR.. and the pictures they took were amazingg!! i'm now very jealous of 'em.. i tried to look for one, but it was just too much to learn (coz i was still tired from the vacation)..

 

hope i'll find and buy one this month *please pray for me ^^ thanks!!* but my dad's kinda disagree with me.. he was like "what for?? i mean, u'll have to carry it everywhere and point-and-shoot camera suits ur needs better than SLR" finee.. if he doesn't agree, then i'll just find one myself >.<

 

and i really want to go to jogja.. my auntie, uncle & his wife are there since this morning and my uncle's family's going there 2moro.. darnnn!!! i've been asking my dad and he kept on telling me to ask mom.. and mom kept on telling me to ask dad.. which means, we aren't going anywhere T.T soo sad..

they've been to jogja last lebaran holiday and my family didn't go with 'em and this time we aren't, again..

i'm simply hoping that my parents will bring my fam together with 'em to some place next time.. *crossing my fingers* i mean we missed out a lot of time together with 'em..

 

and hmm.. still waiting for the next semester's schedule to "pop out" ^^

the first week

it has been a pretty busy week for me. i've had my university orientation two weeks ago, precisely 16-20th August, then start classes the day after.

the orientation was actually a festival (UPH Fest 15), and we had to attend seminars of distinguished speakers two consecutive days before the festival ended.. one seminar inspired me, which is dr eka's. he showed us a recorded movie of him operating someone suffering from tumor in his/her brain stem if i'm not mistaken..

soo we've had a few assignments so far, including epi assignment and prof david's assignment (writing down what we have been doing today and tomorrow) writing a 300 word composition on what is learning.. i guess that's it..

 

sooo i'm kinda pissed with my msn messenger in my new laptop from uph.. i wasn't able to chat using the "proper" msn msgr since i got this laptop. i had to use ebuddy for now until someone fixes whatever is wrong with the messenger..

currently tired after finishing off my group's presentation on epi assignment, which i finished at about 5 or so..

 

okay then.. i think i'll call it a day..

being a doctor

Yesterday, my mom's friend lend me a dvd series of a Korean movie titled "New Heart" about doctors (cardio & internists). I wasn't that eager to watch at first, but I don't know, maybe I was curious, so I watched it. After a few episodes, I became addicted to the movie and wasn't able to stop watching (except when my mom was angry because I was watching when the whole family was eating dinner together). So I had to stop for probably half an hour, then continued to watch the dvd.

 

However, I had to miss 2 episodes of Friends because my sister didn't plug in the kabelvision decoder (it has to be plugged in the electric socket at the back of the tv and it was hard to do it by myself). Then I had to miss one episode of Ugly Betty (there's a replay so I don't have to worry, but I don't know when T.T). After a while, I thought, why not try to plug in the decoder by myself even though it's kind of hard and I'll be in sweat at around 10pm. Okay, so I tried to move the tv slowly without pulling the dvd player's cable but arrghh maybe I pulled the tv too much, that the dvd player turned off. I was soo pissed.

 

But then, came the "happy" part, I was able to switch between kabelvision and dvd player and I was able to watch Las Vegas (Josh Duhamel showed up when I switched to kabelvision and I was very very happy) hahaha. Afterwards, I continued to watch the movie.

 

Okay, I wasn't that interested at the male intern (Li En Chen --> role name) but after a couple of times (actually many times) of watching him, he does seem cute (a little bit). And the actor who had to be taken care of at the hospital (role name Li Dong Quan if I'm not mistaken) was kind of cute, but he wasn't at first (hahaha).

 

Oh my gosh, the operations was cool! They showed a few "live surgeries", but some, they just showed when they cut the body. That was my first time watching a "live surgery" in movies because I never saw a real one. It was so cool! I mean the heart was beating, the doctors had to "operate" on it, and one time a doctor had to stitch a heart when it was beating (it was very hard compared when it isn't beating). In some cases, they had to massage the heart to make it beat again. For those interested into surgery, you have to watch this. I'm actually trying to find a movie, the entire movie with surgeries. Any suggestions? I prefer not a serial movie because I rather sit back and enjoy one full movie rather than getting up again and again to change the disc.

 

I did learn new medical vocabularies. One I remember the most is "Arteriovenous fistula". The patient suffers pain on his back (according to the movie). It was kind of bizarre in the movie. I'm guessing it involves artery & vena. For fistula, I have no guesses.

 

Another one, demerol, is a pain killer, but isn't recommended to the patient suffering Arteriovenous fistula. Instead, they only allow simple pain killer they didn't mention the name.

okay, so i realized it's been a long time since i post one.. so here it is..

 

i've been doing okay, nothing special and it's been one month since i worked in my dad's office. i'm really hoping that time would fly coz i've had enough "holiday" -in fact more than enough- i mean imagine 8 months!! right, at first i thought, 'well, it wouldn't hurt'. yes, it doesn't hurt, but it's BORING (let me emphasize that B-O-R-I-N-G).

 

oh yeah, one thing pissed me. it's about TiKi (yeah, that well-known courier service). so i was sending a package to someone in Aceh. the agent in Intercon accepted it (it was on 17th June) so then i expected that the person i'm sending the packge to would receive it max a week after. instead, that person sms-ed me telling that he/she have not receive the package yet. wow, it did surprised me. i tried to trace it back to TiKi (called them) and they said a woman named Lia has received the package. after i checked with that person, no one there had the name "Lia". i called tiki in Aceh and they said the package was returned to Jakarta. they weren't able to reach the destined address coz it was located in the border of aceh and somewhere -i forgot-. i called TiKi Jakarta again, and they said it was not Lia in Aceh, but Lia in the return address. in fact, the return address wasn't even correct! and unfortunately, the person in charge of returns was not available that time, so i had to call them back the next day. and after a few calls, i did get the returned package -at last- but i'm still pissed coz they didn't return the money that i paid to send the package.

 

i mean they accepted the package meaning they are able to send it.

 

gosshh!! i mean TIKI.. i'm now very pissed at them.. but it's like the only courier service in the radius of about 1 km of my house..? hahaha but this was the second time. the first time was about -i forgot- haha soo there it is..

okay, i admit it, it's almost 3 weeks since my last post.. i was busy lately coz i kinda had to subs for my dad in his office (just for a few jobs). his auntie passed away about two weeks ago, and i had to organize a few things including my university admission and others (a bit private =P )

 

sooo.. last tuesday i attended sph graduation (my friends' graduation), i met many friends and i had the chance to talk to a few of 'em.. there i met my former teachers (ibu frida, ibu mona and ibu jumi) actually i met ibu jumi first but we didn't talk much coz she was kinda in a hurry.. she seemed surprised to see me (neither do i) hahaha sooo the story goes on and on..

 

i think this is not the best place for me to congratulate my sister, but anyways.. congratz sis for graduating year 10 =) and congrats for the awards as well.. she got 6 awards btw, for math, science, bhs indo andd emmm.. i forgot the rest *haha*
